What is your relationship with technology?
Poor. The use is strictly necessary and the PC to me is just a complex typewriter. On the other hand when I started doing stuff on electronic devices took me an afternoon to do the job that a 15 year old boy would do in a quarter of an hour, only to lose two hours to repair the damage that I've done myself.
What do you think the market growth of the ebook?
I am convinced that the future of publishing may be the one. But it is a future that will see my heirs, for the moment I still think the book and the technological perfect and as such unsurpassed. The ebook certainly has its advantages in certain situations but is more convenient to the book, which, for example, needs no charger. I think, in short, the book that smells of paper, if it has resisted so far to say that technology is still cutting edge. It is true that even with the arrival ebook on the beach and I can read a book without the problem of wind around my pages, but it is also true that I bring around something that has its weight, which must be recharged, that if you fall on the ground is broken, that if it gets wet jumps. The book's paper, however, falls to the ground if you pull it up and continue to read it.
But as a writer does not think the ebook to attract more readers to your books?
I write because I enjoy writing and I hope that as many people as possible read my books, the fact that they do so on a paper book or an ebook I am okay, from my point of view, the reward is the same. But I think the current state of things, the printed book is still a clear advantage. And my reasoning is not a nostalgic old saying "in my day," even though I just turned 60, I think just being realistic.
But you are still strong appeal of the paper ...
With a book and you also have a relationship a little 'physical, a book can be an art object, something dear to keep forever. I for example here in my library I have a whole shelf dedicated to all foreign editions of my books, could not be such a thing, emotional emotionally, if I had only released ebook. It's a bit 'as when it was called, which led to a revolution in size and has certainly improved the quality, but the appeal of vinyl, with those covers that at times were real works of art, is lost. The record, for my age, was a kind of saint. Even today I, for example, I do not have a pirated disc, because I'd rather have something that is mine and which corresponds to certain royalties. One of my readers told me that when my book comes out it is a autographed copy, buy another to read it first and put it on. These are wonderful things for an author and do not know whether it will be an autograph in the future ebook.

Yes, perhaps even with the digital signature. Apart from anything else, though, the ebook seems to me an instrument a bit 'mechanical, as something very cool. For example, there are electronic devices that "humanize" the coldness of digital music and play the sound that had the hot vinyl. I can imagine that in future there will be ebook that reproduce the physical pages of paper. In any case I did not pose much problem. For me the computer is a sophisticated typewriter.
But your books also come in electronic form on a computer?
Yeah sure, I write to your computer, but to correct what I wrote print on paper and I read aloud. Clearly not screaming, otherwise the neighbors might think, "Faletti is crazy," but listening to the voice is more facileaccorgersi of what does not work. However I I feel I certainly benefited from the use of computers, because the word I can take, move, pin and above all always have a clean page. I do not know as I would with a typewriter, although there are those who still uses.
How do you imagine you know your readers in the digital age?
